Tales of Nath'relan redux (Reg)
A Brief History:
Nath'relan is the capital and last nation of the Elves. Once their great empire spanned continents, but then they were crippled by war. After thousands of years, an alliance of human kingdoms emerged and marched on the elves, claiming nation after nation from their ancient neighbours. The elven leadership, lazy, corrupt and overconfident in the invulnerability of their empire acted too slowly to stop the human's march of conquest. Finaly, after three hundred years of war, when only Nath'relan remained, the elven leaders went to the Human monarchs and begged for their mercy. The humans relented and Nath'relan was spared, allowed to exist as an elven state.
An Overview of Nath'relan:
Nath'relan is an moderately sized nation, bordered on the west and south by human nations, the north by the infinite sea and the east by the Great Forest, the ancient home of the elves, now home to the Elvah'len. Roughly in the center of the country lies the great city of Tel'vatha capital of Nath'relan and seat of the elvish government. Along the nothern coast and close the the western border is the large coastal city, Port Harath, the first human city to be founded in Nath'relan, the seat of the Human Embassy and home to the largest concentration of humans in the nation. To the south, along the border, can be found the Kah'telen Mountain ranges, called the Border Mountains by the humans. Deep beneath these mountains is the immense subteranean city of Tel'naraht, home to the Drow.

The Races of Nath'relan:
The City Elves:
- Spoiler:
- General: The fair skinned and haired elves are a long lived race and the most widespread in Nath'relan. They prefer to live in cities and villages around their capital, but many can be found living father out, even living among humans.
Government: The elves are rulled by a council of Magisters, a group powerful magic users. They are corrupt and bitter, their power having waned greatly in the years since the war ended. They rule Nath'relan mostly unimpeded but most obey the human monarchs and their representatives.
Language: Most of the elves culture has been lost since the war. As such, most have forgoten the ancient language of the elves. Instead, they speak the common tongue of the humans.
Religion: Some elves choose to follow the human beliefs, however most have little time for religion, prefering to focus their energies into other endevours. They bury their dead in large graveyards in their cities and villages.
Military: Many limits have been place on the elven army since the war, leaving their military might a shadow of what it once was. However, what soilders they do have are well trained. All of their warriors are trained in the arts of war from a young age, becoming capable Sentinels, marching into combat in resplendent guilded armor.
Unique Traits: All elves posses the ability to learn magic, however only those who devote their lives to it can gain any true proficiency.
The Humans:
- Spoiler:
- General: Humanity is a young race, very diverse. They have very little regard for other races, believe themselves to be the rightfull rulers of the world.
Government: The humans are lead by an alliance of monarchs, kings and queens who have joined forces in order to advance the cause of human expansion. Their representative in Nath'relan is the human ambassador. His word is their's, making him the most powerful man in the nation.
Language: The humans speak a variety of different languages, however, for the sake of communication between their different kingdoms all humans are taught to speak the common tongue.
Religion: Human religion is monotheistic. They believe in a single, omnipotent Creator who created the world and then gave birth to humanity. As the children of the Creator, they believe the entire world to be their birthright. They cremate their dead in order to release their soul from their earthly body, so that they might return to the creators side.
Military: In times of war, the human armies are mostly formed of conscripted men-at-arms, poorly trained but make up for it with sheer numbers and group tactics. Their true military might lies in their Knights, armored champions that ride into battle on horseback.
Unique Traits: Magical talent is rare in humans, but when it does manifest, it is powerful.
The Elvah'len:
- Spoiler:
- General: The Elvah'len, elvish for Children of the Wood, are decendants of Keeper Haren'kel and her followers. Thousands of years before the war with humanity, she saw that the elves were begining to forget the old ways of worshiping the Spirit of the Great Forest. She was outraged when her kin began to cut down the forest's trees, in which the spirits of their ancestors dwelled, in order to develop their cities. believing the elves to be a lost cause, she took those loyal to her a dissapeared into the Great Forest, where she passed on the teaching of the old ways, worshiping the Forest Spirit, honoring the ancestor trees and living in wandering clans as to leave as little a mark on the surrounding forest as possible.
Government: The Elvah'len live in wandering clans, groups of families decended from the original families that followed Keeper Haren'kal into the Great Forest. Each clan is lead by a Keeper, a spritual elder who leads the clan with wisdom and compassion. Once every year all the clans gather together for a Clansmeet, where the keepers arrange trade and marrage contracts between clans.
Language: Largely untouched by the war, the Elvah'len have kept their ancient elven culture alive. this includes their language. All Elvah'len are able to speak elvish, and they have also learned the common tongue from humans and city elves that they captured on the outskirts of the forest.
Religion: The Elvah'len worship the Spirit of the Great Forest. They believe that the forest is, itself, a living, conscious being. When an Elvah'len passes, they are wrapped in linen and buried. A tree is then planted over the grave and, as the body feeds the tree's growth, the deceased's spirit becomes one with the wood.
Military: The Elvah'len have no military, nor do they need one, as only they know the ways of the forest. Any army that attempted to invade them would quickly become scattered, lost and never be seen again. However each clan is protected by a devoted force of hunters, trained from a young age in the arts of archery, tracking and survival.
Unique Traits: All Elvah'len recieve a clan specific tattoo on their forehead, to identify them. Evlah'len have unique names, for example: given name'family name of clan name. I,e Oran'telha tan Vartalen.
Drow:
- Spoiler:
- General: The Drow are a race of red eyed, grey skinned elves. The are decendants of a party of elven explorers who went to explore the Kah'telen Mountain ranges. There they discovered a great passage, carved into the mountain side by an infinitely ancient civilisation. On the other end of the passage was an immense subteranean city, long abandoned by those who had built it and then mysteriously disappeared. They spent years exploring deeper and deeper into that dark world beneath the mountains. It is unknown what occured in that dark depths, vauge tales speak of a great darkness that changed the explorers, but the elves who went below, emerged with darkened skin and firey red eyes. They chose to remain in the mountains, inhabiting the great underground city, rather than return to the elven cities, and their decendants remain to this day.
Government: As beings of a firey disposition, it was only natural that the drow would become a militaristic people. They are lead by a High General, a great warrior and genius tactitian.
Language: Unlike the city elves, who have forgotten their ancient language, the drow have intentionaly abandoned it, instead taking up the human's common tongue.
Religion: The drow have little interest in religion, instead they find honor on the field of battle, venerating those who show great prowess as great Champions. Champions are honored even after death. they are considered the ideal for all drow.
Military: As a militaristic society, the arts of war are standard teaching for all young drow. Every drow learns to use a weapon of some kind, along with the skill for their chosen civilian trade. In a time of war, their entire society becomes their army. There are those, however, that chose to become fulltime soldiers, joining the dorw's standing army as Centurions.
Unique Traits: The drow are a noctounal race, able to see perfectly in the dark. However they have little tolerance for sunlight.

Re: Tales of Nath'relan redux (Reg)
Name: Nala'vartal tan Hahrenel
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: Elvah'len
Personality: She comes off as serious and duty driven at first, but once she lets down her defences she is a sweet girl.
Appearance: She stands at the average hight for a elf maiden her age. She has long fair blonde hair tied back in a simple braid and pale blue eyes. She wears the traditional armor of the hunters of her clan, a leather vest over a light brown tunic, a pair of leather vambraces and leather elbow guards, a leather armor skirt with knee guards and leather boots laced up to just below the knee. Tattooed on her forehead is the mark of her clan: A set of twisted horns begining at the bridge of her nose and extending upwards, splitting into the two horns above her eyebrows and reaching the top corners of her forehead.
Equipment: Recurve hunting bow, quiver with twenty four white feathered arrows, a curved dagger, belt with pouches.
Personal History: Born into the Hahrenel clan she was considered for apprenticeship to the clan's Keeper, however when she turned five and went through The Choosing, the Keeper decided she could better serve the clan in a different role. She was instead apprenticed to the clan's master Hunter. The Keeper's judgement proved to be accurate. She was a natural hunter, exceling at the arts of archery and tracking. When she turned eighteen, her master pronounced her skilled enough to take up the responsibilities of a full fledged hunter.
Other: Some of her many responsibilities as a Hahrenel hunter are scouting the surrounding forest, searching for resources such as fresh water, preventing dangers from threatening the clan and protecting the clan's deer herd.

Re: Tales of Nath'relan redux (Reg)
Name: Brole Farvalen
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Elf
Personality: Condescending and skeptical at first, but generous and kind to those with the patience to get to know him.
Personal History: Born in Tel'vatha, Brole came from a fairly respected family among the elves, being closely related to one of the magisters. A highly intelligent individual, he delved into the healing arts, wanting to be a beneficial tool to society. Disgusted with always being talked about as part of a legacy rather than being himself, Brole left Tel'vatha. He established a home on the side of a road, near a human city, aiding any weak or sick travelers, regardless of race and usually free of charge. There are times, however, when he is called by a denizen of the town, to diagnose and cure someone, in which case he is paid for his services. He usually spends his days inside his adobe constantly studying and revising magical texts and medicine, sometimes forgetting to eat or sleep and collapsing from fatigue.
Appearance: Hazel eyes and light brown hair, with a face that is tired and worn from constant long periods of studying and occasional malnourishment. A frail build from lack of labour, the most work Bole has had to do is carry a heavy tome from point A to point B every few months. He's as tall as an elf can get, and as a result, usually has to look up to every human traveler that comes by. He dons brown pants and shoes, a white long sleeved shirt and a dark green vest. During the winter season, he wears a traveler's robe when he must go out.
Equipment: When out of his house, Brole carries a few remedies in hand as well as a personal tome with a couple of spells.
Other: Living alone, Brole learned to cook for himself, and is usually testing out new recipes that range from visually appealing and delicious, to questionably edible.

Re: Tales of Nath'relan redux (Reg)
Just one thing. Because I forgot the city names, Tarel was changed to Tel'vatha. Other than that, accepted.

(sorry for the long background)
Personal history: His was born into a small family, with his father and mother running a small jewelry business in a smaller human town. When Jaden turned six his parent decide to take him to a nearby city so they could pick out gifts that their small town could not offer, after hiring a kind mercenary they began their trip. On the way their Jaden needed to use the bathroom so his father asked the Merc to go with him into the woods so he would be safe. From his left hand mana flowed into the merc and the ground causing it to erupt into a blue crystal killing the lot of them. All alone Jaden cried for his dead family, the merc who tried his hardest to save him, and in fear of the crystal which he was reminded of since the tips of the finger on his left hand had turned to that blue crystal. He was found hour later by an old hermit who happened to be a wind mage, he comfort the child and took him home. Jaden was raised by the old man named Luke who taught him some academics and once he was mentally ready basic magic so his powers could be somewhat control, and during his training they found out the crystal was in fact diamond. when the Luke died and the crystal had spread over Jaden's wrist, he tried living the life as a hermit but he abandoned it for a life of traveling jewel merchant.
other(description of his powers): When Jaden touches something with his left hand his mana will begin to flow towards it turning it into the same blue diamond that is slowly engulfing his left hand excluding metal and Jaden's own body. By focusing his mana he can cause the gem to grow and he can reel the mana back into his body to make the gem regresses, but he cannot pull back the diamond that grows on it's own.
